It has made news recently that Tony Khan may have spoiled the lineup for Full Gear, an upcoming event put on by AEW. The AEW President was photographed at a Jaguars game while holding some handwritten notes. Many zoomed in on the notes and what was revealed was the full lineup for the Full Gear event.

Many have speculated, however, that this was a work; something to enable the show to garner that much momentum. Like the debut of CM Punk in the company, as well as Bryan Danielson, the more people that knew, the better. They hype was built, essentially.

Here, in the notes, it’s clearly seen that the name, Hangman is circled. He has spoken openly in recent weeks that he wants to give the fans the Omega vs. Hangman match that everyone has been waiting for, so perhaps this is a way of telling those fans that it’s coming after all.

Regardless if it was a work or not, Khan sets the record straight for now. While speaking with Busted Open Radio. He went into detail about the image and just what the notes were all about. He said:

“I was doodling on my notebook and I saw a lot of people took notice of the notes in my notebook, which is pretty amazing because when you’re walking around with full notes, you never think photographers are going to capture the small writing you’ve written down. I’m glad it wasn’t anything more personal…

“It’s funny that people run with assumptions on the internet these days. I’ve seen all these people jumping to conclusions that, ‘oh, that must be the Full Gear card.’ It is true, I announced that Kenny vs. Hangman is the main event that we’ve all been waiting for with Full Gear, it’s going to be a huge pay-per-view, it is absolutely (booked)…”

The full card still isn’t set in stone, but it looks as though we are going to get Hangman vs. “The Belt Collector ” himself, Kenny Omega for the AEW World Heavyweight Championship.
