The Friday Night Wars are just about to heat up. It was announced last week that WWE would be encroaching on AEW’s Rampage timeslot for a half an hour. Of course AEW President, Tony Khan would respond in kind with a buy-in worthy of attention.

AEW has been making headway in producing a product that has drawn quite a bit of attention from fans. Remember, this is a company that started only in 2019, a mere two years ago. Already they are presenting quite the option for disgruntled wrestlers and wrestling fans alike.

This is getting a lot of attention on social media, Tony Khan taking to Twitter quite often. Most recently, he made a statement in regards to him having more money than WWE. WWE announced that their program would be commercial free. Khan made a statement to that as well. He stated:

“We can take the commercials out of it…If you want to take the commercials out of it, I can do that too. It doesn’t seem very civil, but I have more money than they do, so I can afford to do that longer than they can. But that’s how we make money at the end of the day, so I was surprised when they took those out.”

As it turns out though, WWE feels as though the millionaire is probably spending little too much of his money as he struggles to keep up and surpass WWE. It was the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that ushered forth the possibility that those in WWE are essentially thinking: “will spend so much and lose so much money in the long run.”

Another comment apparently milling around backstage at WWE is: “We beat Ted Turner and Ted Turner is smarter than Tony Khan.” These statements prove that they are confident, and if these statements are in fact true, they also prove that Khan and his antics are on their mind a lot, which speaks wonders. he’s getting to them, dear readers. Let’s see how it goes tonight and who wins the ratings war.
