Ricky Starks’ raw talent as a pro wrestler is undeniable and has a bright future ahead of him in AEW. He is currently the FTW Champion and is one of the mainstays of AEW television. He is also very outspoken when it comes to the pro wrestling product.

He is also is constantly compared to The Rock, fact which surprises him. Especially when it comes to the way he dresses and his mannerisms and promo skills. The comparisons are certainly plausible according to many.

Ricky Starks recently stated that he considers himself homegrown AEW talent and not NWA, which led to a lot of discussion among fans.

While speaking to Denise Salcedo on Instinct Culture, Ricky Starks talked about his future as the FTW Champion and also hit back at haters who think he’s too effeminate and flamboyant to be the FTW champion.

“I like the challenge of having the FTW title because I don’t fit the stereotypical mold of what that is, you know, as history has shown. We have Taz who is a very hard-nosed bada** basically, and I’m a bada** in my own way. I’ll bet you may ask someone where he’s a little bit more effeminate and a little bit too flamboyant, he doesn’t represent an FTW. But the fact of the matter is I can still whoop your a** and do it in tight pants and an unbuttoned shirt. So I think for me, it’s making sure that I create that type of lane for myself in that regard.”

Ricky Starks defeated Brian Cage last week on AEW Rampage and brought an end to their feud from the looks of it. We will have to wait and see what is next in store for Ricky Starks.
