AJ Mendez, formerly known as AJ Lee, is making her return to the pro wrestling world, but she is not getting involved in any in-ring action. She will serve as executive producer for WOW Women of Wrestling instead, but that still set the pro wrestling world on fire for a minute. Obviously, a lot of fans miss seeing AJ Lee on their televisions, computer screens, and news feeds.

After her 2015 exit from WWE, AJ Mendez spent time writing her autobiography. She released that book, but didn’t stop writing. She penned Wonder Woman comic and there are plenty more projects on the way.

Sports Illustrated recently spoke to CM Punk and his wife came up in the conversation. AJ Mendez had just announced her participation in WOW Women of Wrestling, so Punk was able to give his fresh take on the situation.

“I’m very excited for he. She’s doing what she wants to do. She’s going to get to write and use her voice to do something that she maybe thought she wouldn’t get the chance to do again. It’s no bumps, and it’s a chance to help foster and grow the next generation of females in wrestling. That’s a perfect, perfect spot for her.”

CM Punk and AJ Lee are incredibly supportive of each other, and that isn’t going to stop. We’ll have to see if AJ Lee ever finds her way to AEW, because Sean Sapp reported that she has interest from another televised pro wrestling company if she’s willing to take an on-screen role.
