WOW Women of Wrestling is coming back and they have two big names attached. Tessa Blanchard and AJ Lee are connected to the new show, set to debut in 2022, but only Blanchard is wrestling.

AJ Mendez received an offer to be an executive on the series, and she took it. This still marks her first dealings with a pro wrestling company since she left WWE in 2015.

PW Insider‘s Mike Johnson elaborated on why AJ Lee won’t be wrestling for WOW Women of Wrestling. At this point, she has not shown any interest in getting back in the ring. There is also certainly interest from other companies, but that would take up a lot more time. Her participation in WOW Women of Wrestling will not add too much more to her already busy schedule.

WOW approached her and made her an offer to work as an Executive on the series.  She hasn’t shown any interest in wrestling and has a lot of projects in Hollywood she’s working on.  Going to WWE or AEW would surely take up a massive amount of her time.

WOW won’t be as busy, she’ll get an executive credit and she can be free to get her other film and writing projects going. […] In her eyes, isn’t an option for her due to health issues.

AJ Mendez is a published author and she is also penning comic books. She obviously has a lot going on, but she’s not getting back in the ring just yet. That won’t stop her fans from keeping up the faith that she will eventually change her mind.
