Impact Wrestling’s top champion isn’t even in the company. Christian Cage is under AEW contract, but the forbidden door allowed him to beat Kenny Omega and win that title from The Cleaner. Now Impact Wrestling needs to get that title off of Christian in some way.

During Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer brought up the current situation with the Impact Wrestling Title. Christian Cage is still the champion, but it appears that Josh Alexander might be in a position to take that title.

“I was told that Josh Alexander was gonna be in the main event for Bound for Glory, and I wouldn’t be surprised, because I don’t see Christian being there forever, and you know he’s gotta lose to somebody, right. Josh Alexander was the guy I’ve heard is getting the biggest push, so it might be him.”

Josh Alexander is also still the X-Division Champion for Impact Wrestling. This could result in a double champion situation for a bit if everything works out in the Walking Weapon’s favor.

If anything fans of The North can be happy that Alexander’s time in Impact Wrestling after Ethan Page’s departure was a very successful tenure.
