Edge and Seth Rollins had a SummerSlam rematch inside Madison Square Garden, but the contest didn’t end in the Rated R Superstar’ favor. Edge took a curb stomp from Rollins and was stretchered off. Odds are fans won’t see Adam Copeland for a while.

It was noted in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that Edge’s injury angle was done as a way to write him off television. It is expected that Edge will miss “a few months” of in-ring action.

Edge went out on a stretcher and was taken away in an ambulance. This will explain Edge not being around for a few months. Since Edge only works part-time it is easy to do injury angles to explain his being gone but there’s also a limit on how many you can do before it feels like you’ve seen it before.

Edge’s return to WWE came with part-time schedule. He isn’t around as much as some Superstars, but he has worked a few big matches for WWE already in 2021. Odds are Edge will be back before the year is over, but fans will have to wait for that moment.
