WWE is set to unveil new version of NXT this week, and fans are excited to see what will happen. Some fans are also a bit worried, because they don’t like change. NXT Superstars also have no idea what they’re getting into. That change will be instantly noticeable, because even the venue name is set to change.

According to a report from PW Insider, WWE is dropping the Capitol Wrestling Center name. From now on their venue will simply be known as “NXT.” This is a change from the name that they introduced over the summer after upgrading the facility.

Going forward, the Capitol Wrestling Center name will not be used in reference to the WWE Performance Center on WWE NXT programming.

The Capitol Wrestling Center name was in reference to the territory that Vince McMahon Sr. ran back in the day. Now that name is going away, but it was fun while it lasted. Odds are some fans will always refer to the venue under that name, but it won’t be used in an official capacity.

I love pro wrestling and hate BS. These two things drive me. Years of experience in writing, journalism, and digging exclusive insider info for Ringside News. Worked in finance before realizing pro wrestling journalism made much less sense. Pro beachballs at pro wrestling shows, pro dives if someone catches, anti bullies, olives, and pineapples on pizza.
