AEW has few big events coming up and tons of fans are looking toward the September 22nd event in Author Ashe Stadium as a huge show. AEW Grand Slam could also see the beginning of some huge stories for the company.

During Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer spoke about AEW Grand Slam and how Tony Khan will likely start some big angles on the show. Full Gear is November 13th, and that event will need some marquee matches. Fans might just see some momentum toward the next pay-per-view event.

“I know without knowing, I just feel like they’re going to start some storylines. Matches are the matches, and I’m sure they’re gonna have a good lineup, but I really think they’re gonna start some storylines. I think [Tony Khan] is going to want that show to be one where you’re really kicking things off with that and then September 22nd maybe you shoot the big angles for Full Gear.”

It makes total sense that Tony Khan will want to utilize Arthur Ashe Stadium as much as possible. Shooting big Full Gear angles will not only take place in front of that massive crowd, but the company will get to re-use the footage in highlight reels until the November 13th pay-per-view.
