Kevin Owens’ WWE contract is running up much sooner than anyone expected. He inked a five-year deal in 2018, but WWE changed the structure of that contract prior to the pandemic starting in 2020. This cause his expiration date to move up considerably. Now fans are talking, especially while AEW is signing huge stars like CM Punk, Ruby Soho, Adam Cole, and Bryan Danielson.

While some thought that Owens would be around WWE until 2023, it turns out that his deal is up in January, 2022. That give KO only a few more months on WWE programming.

A recent tweet where the former Universal Champion dropped the coordinates for Mt. Rushmore got fans talking in a big way. He deleted that tweet, but it wasn’t lost on many fans that Mt. Rushmore was the name of Owens’ group with Adam Cole and The Young Bucks prior to WWE separating them.

Owens changed the location on his Twitter account to say: “Almost there.” Many fans are speculating about what that means as well. Kevin will be fine no matter where he goes at this point, because he has a dedicated fan base. He might even bring some WWE fans along with him no matter where he goes.
