WWE made the decision to release a number of Superstars and staff in recent memory. This caused for some interesting coincidences along the way.

According to Fightful Select, WWE released a Superstars who filled in for a Superstar who was released. This went down on the NXT and 205 Live brand.

It is reported that Ari Sterling, now Alex Zayne once again, was not originally slated to face Cameron Grimes in June. Instead, Ariya Daivari was slated to wrestle Grimes as a heel, but he was released “just before the match took place.”

The match went down with the intention of elevating Cameron Grimes as a babyface. Sadly, Zayne was later released as well.
