Adam Cole was considered one of the best talents in NXT after debuting back in 2017. He competed in some of the brand’s best matches and his importance to NXT will never be forgotten.

Adam Cole was done with NXT after TakeOver 36 and shortly after that, Adam Cole’s WWE contract also expired, making him free agent. On top of that, he didn’t sign another contract with WWE, so he could go wherever his heart desired.

His heart ultimately chose AEW as he debuted at AEW All Out and sided with his Elite brethren The Young Bucks and Kenny Omega.

While speaking during the post-All Out media conference, Adam Cole talked about recently meeting Vince McMahon. Cole stated that the meeting was awesome and that he never had a single bad experience with Vince McMahon.

“The talk (with McMahon) went great. We had a really, really good conversation about a lot of different things. But the actual conversation itself was awesome. I had no bad experience with him whatsoever. He is an intimidating man that definitely commands respect in a lot of ways, but the experience itself was totally fine.

Working and being around, well I just started tonight, but being around Tony is so cool for so many different reasons. The biggest one is how contagious his love for wrestling is. I know that I love pro-wrestling, but you can’t help but be more excited and more ready to go and more fired up when you’re around Tony. I feel like I can go and talk to Tony about anything, which is so cool. And I’m not just saying this because he’s sitting here, I say this to everybody, but Tony is an amazing, amazing person.”

Vince McMahon definitely wanted Adam Cole to stay with WWE but ultimately, what’s done is done. Adam Cole also stated that joining AEW was fairly easy decision for him. We will have to wait and see how he will be booked in AEW in the coming months.
