CM Punk took the pro wrestling world by storm after making his debut on AEW Rampage: The First Dance. In fact, his debut might even make it to Guinness World Records.

CM Punk left WWE after the Royal Rumble in 2014 on a very sour note and essentially burned bridges with them. Punk had made it clear that he never wanted to go back to pro wrestling, though his words did not age well.

For many years fans wondered if he will ever go back to WWE, but it seems CM Punk had absolutely no intention of ever doing so as it was never on the table.

While speaking with ESPN, CM Punk revealed that he received an offer from WWE to sign with the company but he declined them as they were playing games with him.

“I remember one of the first things I ever said to them was, ‘Above all, don’t play games,’ And they played games. Some things never change… When you enter a conversation with people you have a past with and you know who they are, how seriously can you take it? I know exactly who they are and they just continue to prove it. I’m trying to be as diplomatic as I possibly can.”

CM Punk previously stated that he would have died working in WWE as well. Punk is more than happy to be working in AEW after regaining his love for professional wrestling and that is unlikely to change anytime soon.
