CM Punk Shuts Down Rumors Of AJ Lee Joining AEW

CM Punk debuted in AEW and it didn’t take the internet long at all to ask for AJ Lee. Her name trended online following her husband’s return to the ring, but that comeback isn’t likely for the former WWE Divas Champion. She is writing and having great time in this chapter of her life, and it doesn’t seem likely that she will return.

While speaking to the New York Post, CM Punk was asked about the possibility of his wife making a return to pro wrestling. He cast a lot of doubt on that happening because of her pre-existing neck issues.

“I just want to say, no. Just because [of] her neck. The reason she stopped wrestling is because of her neck. She’s got a bad neck, you know. I wouldn’t want her to jeopardize [her] health and neither would she, so we’ll put an end to that rumor right now.”

We will have to see if AJ Lee is able to make a return. Neck injuries can heal and she hasn’t taken a bump in front of a live crowd in a long time. It is very possible for the pro wrestling bug to bite her again and AEW would likely love to have her aboard. The big question is whether she is interested at this point.
