Update: Ringside News has confirmed that there were no WrestleMania plans in place for Roman Reigns vs Brock Lesnar in 2023.

Original: Brock Lesnar made his big return to WWE during SummerSlam and he stood face-to-face with Roman Reigns. The two will seemingly battle soon, but that was not the original plan.

Dave Meltzer noted on Wrestling Observer Radio that WWE moved up Reigns vs Lesnar. Their original intention was to run that match for WrestleMania in 2023. Now it appears that they are pulling the trigger a bit sooner.

The Inglewood, California WrestleMania event was slated to see the Beast Incarnate vs the Tribal Chief. The company was also planning Roman Reigns vs The Rock in 2022 at WrestleMania in Dallas.

Reigns vs Lesnar was fast-tracked to even sooner than 2023. It also stands to reason that their match could take place in Saudi Arabia as the company returns to KSA for another Crown Jewel event in October.

We’ll have to see what’s in store for this program, but they kicked things off at SummerSlam, well ahead of schedule.
