WALTER won the NXT UK Title from Pete Dunne at NXT TakeOver: New York on April 5th, 2019. He held the title for 870 days, but everything must come to an end, no matter how dominate. Ilja Dragunov took on WALTER at NXT TakeOver: 36, and the two men went to absolute war.

WALTER and Dragunov absolutely tore each other apart and that included many near falls and incredibly stiff shots from both competitors.

The Capitol Wrestling Center was on fire for this match by the time Dragunov locked on a sleeper hold as WALTER climbed the turnbuckle to throw him off. Ilja kept fighting to keep his sleeper latched on, and WALTER tried hard to break free time and time again.

Finally, after WALTER took several terrible shots to the neck, he tapped out to the sleeper hold. This was a huge moment as his historic title reign ended, but it is a new day in NXT.
