WWE fans did not receive a traditional 2K video game release last year. 2k Battlegrounds dropped, but that wasn’t the same as traditional video game at all. Gamers will continue waiting for more updates, and screenshots are a good sign. A new report says that patience will be a virtue in this situation.

According to a report from Fightful Select, Take 2 Interactive has delayed “multiple games.” Take 2 did not respond with a comment to provide more information regarding whether WWE 2K22 is a part of those delays, but that might be the case. WWE Superstars already did scans for the game, but they were informed that it won’t come out until 2022.

Members of the WWE roster that we spoke to backstage at Summerslam weekend had been notified that the game wouldn’t release in 2021, and were told that it will likely figure in to WrestleMania season marketing.

Scans have already been done for several wrestlers in the game, and that includes recently released Superstars. Of course, they can always nix those released face scans, but that certainly wont speed along the process to get the new game out.

More information about 2k22 is expected sometime during SummerSlam weekend. So, we might be in for a new trailer or something like that very soon.
