WWE announced the rest of their planned schedule for 2021 eariler today, but many fans noticed that pay-per-views were not included on the list. Their trip to Saudi Arabia was not noted either, but the company is making plans to hold big events in lucky cities, including the Royal Rumble next year.

According a report from Fightful Select, St. Louis, Missouri is the frontrunner to host the 2022 Royal Rumble pay-per-view. No date was confirmed, but it was stated that this was the thinking “a month ago.”

The report also stated that the current idea could see the Royal Rumble event held in February for the first time in company history.

One of the more interesting notes about the Royal Rumble is that there has been significant internal discussion about it actually happening in early February for the first time in history.

It was noted that those in WWE were “under the impression” that St. Louis hosting next year’s Royal Rumble event “would be the end game.” It was also made clear that no venue was mentioned for the event.

Some rumors about Seattle hosting the 2022 Royal Rumble event have been floating around, but the report noted that “we haven’t confirmed that whatsoever.” St. Louis was named and mentioned as the most likely landing spot for next year’s big pay-per-view event.

We will have to see what WWE schedules for next year, but they are still trying to nail down their schedule of upcoming events.
