AEW All Out is coming up in just couple of weeks, and September 5th will be here before we know it. Tony Khan’s company is still building the card for that sold-out Chicago show, and they are likely slated to add another huge dream match to the event.

Lance Archer lost the IWGP United States Title to Hiroshi Tanahashi at NJPW Resurgence last night. Jon Moxley, who competed in a tag team match prior to that, stuck around in the crowd to watch that contest go down with vested interest.

Moxley previously fired shot at Tanahashi during Dynamite while saying that the Japanese wrestling legend is dodging him. During Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer discussed how Moxley vs Tanahashi for the IWGP United States Title is likely to go down at All Out at this point.

“That’s probably going to be in Chicago for All Out, because I know there was a whole scenario built — which I presumed Tanahashi was gonna win from the way it was all set it. This is Tony Khan’s call, but Moxley asked Tony Khan — he wanted a match with a certain guy and Tony Khan said ‘I will do my best to make it happen.’ This is Moxley’s dream match and this is a big one, because it’s Tanahashi on an AEW pay-per-view. That’s a pretty big deal.”

Unless something unforeseen takes place, it appears that Moxley vs Tanahashi should be expected for September 5th. That match will be a huge one for AEW, because they have wanted Tanahashi in their ring for a while. He did appear via video package in the past to congratulate Chris Jericho on 30 years in pro wrestling, but All Out will likely see him actually get physical at an AEW event.
