Roman Reigns Had Two Requests Before Making WWE Return

Roman Reigns is the current WWE Universal Champion and is one of the top Superstars in the company right now. He has proven himself to be an excellent champion with great character work and in-ring skills. Reigns’ reinvention as heel has truly shown just how good he can be both as an in-ring performer and character. It came after several years of being forced onto fans as a babyface.

Many fans would agree that Roman Reigns’ stock increased exponentially thanks to having Paul Heyman by his side. Roman Reigns agrees with the fact as he called Paul Heyman a great weapon in his arsenal.

While speaking to the Sports Illustrated Media podcast, Roman Reigns talked about the two requests he made before his return to the company last year. Ultimately, he requested to work with both Michael Hayes and Paul Heyman.

“I had two requests. I wanted to work with Michael Hayes, that’s my guy. He’s been with me from The Shield days and even before that with my family and a lot of the people around me have been in relations and in close contact with my family, even before my time as a performer, back when I was just a kid. So they have a great history with my family and they’ve taken to me like family, like blood and those are two guys who are critically in my process – Michael Hayes and Paul Heyman.”

Roman Reigns is set to defend his WWE Universal Championship against John Cena at the WWE SummerSlam pay-per-view on August 21. We will have to wait and see if he will be able to retain his title or not.
