WWE employees received a mass message to inform them that they will all be tested for COVID-19 prior to every event, including house shows. As we previously reported, WWE is prepared for the possibility that the latest wave of the COVID-19 pandemic might cause cancellation of events. As of this writing, every event on WWE’s present schedule, including SummerSlam, is going ahead as planned.

Ringside News has learned that all staff and talent backstage in WWE must be tested for COVID-19 prior to each show. This applies to everyone due to the recent spike in COVID-19 cases nationwide.

A tenured member of the backstage staff informed us that “every single person who is backstage for the events must be COVID tested.” There are “no exceptions” and “everyone gets swabbed.”

WWE Head of Talent Relations John Laurinaitis sent out a mass message stating: “Effective immediately and until further notice, COVID testing will resume at every TV and event. More details to come soon.”

I love pro wrestling and hate BS. These two things drive me. Years of experience in writing, journalism, and digging exclusive insider info for Ringside News. Worked in finance before realizing pro wrestling journalism made much less sense. Pro beachballs at pro wrestling shows, pro dives if someone catches, anti bullies, olives, and pineapples on pizza.
