Update: It has been now been reported that Jeff Jarrett still with WWE, but on non-exclusive deal. He is still able to take indie bookings and his podcast with this arrangement.

Original: WWE has released several people from their backstage staff, but fans don’t know about specific names until the news breaks. Jeff Jarrett returned to WWE as a producer and he also made a couple of in-ring segments. Now he is gone from the company once again.

According to a report from What Culture, Jeff Jarrett was quietly released from WWE in April, 2021. This news is just coming out as the company did not make a public release. Double J has already been reaching out for independent bookings since WWE released him as well.

Per our source, the Hall of Famer has already been reaching out to other places for bookings, though he is still bound to a non-compete clause of unknown length. Whether or not WWE plans on bringing Jarrett back at some point is currently unclear.

Jarrett is a WWE Hall of Famer and re-entered the company after his induction. WWE decided to make several cuts over the last year and it appears that Jeff Jarrett was one of those departures.

You can never close the door on a WWE return for Jeff Jarrett, because he has come and gone before. Right now he is apparently no longer employed by Vince McMahon’s company once again.

I love pro wrestling and hate BS. These two things drive me. Years of experience in writing, journalism, and digging exclusive insider info for Ringside News. Worked in finance before realizing pro wrestling journalism made much less sense. Pro beachballs at pro wrestling shows, pro dives if someone catches, anti bullies, olives, and pineapples on pizza.
