AJ Styles decided to sign new WWE contracts instead of give AEW a try. He has also made it clear that his time as a full-time Superstar is coming to an end. Kenny Omega is still in AEW, but not losing hope that he will meet Styles someday.

While speaking to Wrestling Observer Radio, Kenny Omega said that he’s not giving up hope about having an eventual match with AJ Styles. He wants to keep that alive in his own mind, at least.

“Going back to things that I love that never got a sequel or a part 2 or part 3 or 4 or whatever, it never got another season. I hate feeling like it’s over and I want these things to exist in my mind, at least. I think for fans that maybe dug those stories. I never want to completely close the book on them, because maybe, who knows somewhere down the line I might have that match with AJ and I want to be able to call upon that history when the time comes.”

If AJ Styles vs Kenny Omega ever goes down, it’s likely to happen in AEW. Styles is still with WWE and there is little risk that they will cut his time with the company short by releasing him. You can never say never in pro wrestling, and Omega knows that. We will have to see if Styles vs Omega is actually possible down the line, but Kenny Omega is not giving up the storyline.
