Daniel Bryan let his WWE contract expire and that means no 90-day non-compete clause awaited his departure from Vince McMahon’s company. It appears that he is on his way to AEW and that means a big surprise is likely coming.

We previously covered that Bryan Danielson has reportedly signed a deal with All Elite Wrestling. He wanted less dates, but the same money along with the ability to work in Japan and have some say in his character. Tony Khan was able to grant him all of those requests.

According to Bodyslam.net, AEW has something special planned for Bryan Danielson’s debut with the company. It was reported that tentative plans called for Bryan Danielson to debut during the September 22nd event at Arthur Ashe Stadium in New York. They want to wait until All Out wraps up and they move onto their next phase, one that will apparently include Daniel Bryan. As with everything in pro wrestling, plans can always change.

The plan was to hold off debuting Danielson until after all of their plans for All Out were wrapped up, and to bring him in after the PPV. However, with the news of CM Punk’s potential AEW debut may have caused plans to change.

Bryan Danielson’s AEW debut should come as no real surprise for fans. He was removed from all future WWE promotional content and there is a strong feeling within the company that he is AEW bound. It appears that is exactly the case, but he might not be alone.

AEW already debuted Andrade El Idolo and Malakai Black in recent memory. CM Punk is also rumored to be talking about coming in to wrestle for them. Obviously, AEW is doing a lot of things to capture fan attention right about now. Stay tuned.
