Finn Balor returned to the WWE main roster during SmackDown’s return of live fans this week. The Houston crowd was pumped to see The Prince, and he promptly took out Sami Zayn. Balor had a great time with his return, but he’s not sticking around to just be another face on the show.

The first-ever Universal Champion made it very clear that he is on SmackDown to win championships. He returned to NXT and won the NXT Title, making himself a two-time champion. During Talking Smack, he seemed to imply that becoming a two-time Universal Champion is his intention now.

“Obviously, there is always a plan,” Balor teased. “I went to NXT, [and] I became the NXT Champion. I moved to RAW, [and] became the first Universal Champion, [and] became the two-time Intercontinental Champion. I went back to NXT and won the NXT Championship.”

“So, the reason that I’m here on SmackDown is to win championships. Buckle your seat belts; we’re going for a ride!”

Finn Balor looked strong in his return, but he didn’t wrestle a match. He’s not in a program yet, but attacking Sami Zayn could certainly spark something more down the line for the two former NXT Champions. Balor is back, and he’s on SmackDown. Now we will have to wait and see how he’s treated in a world where Roman Reigns has carved out his place as Tribal Chief.
