Impact Wrestling lost Ethan Page and The North was split up, but Josh Alexander stuck around because there is a lot more time left in his deal. While he’s around, Impact Wrestling is going to use the Walking Weapon as much as possible.

Alexander won the X-Division Title, championship he will defend in an Ultimate X match at Slammiversary. Win or lose that match, Impact Wrestling is far from finished using Alexander in a spotlighted role.

The Wrestling Observer Newsletter made it clear that Impact Wrestling has plans for a “bigger push” coming Josh Alexander’s way. That does not guarantee that he will retain the X-Division Title at Slammiversary, but he will receive a lot more opportunities in the company after that.

Right now the plan is for a bigger push for Josh Alexander after the work he’s done as X division champion. That doesn’t mean he’s winning or losing at Ultimate X, but just that he’s figured bigger into overall plans

One might assume that AEW will make a play for Alexander when his contract with Impact Wrestling starts to run out. Then he can reunite with Ethan Page as tag team partners once again. That could always happen, but Josh Alexander still has a bit of time left with Impact Wrestling before that idea can be approached. In the meantime, it seems that they realize the kind of talent that Josh Alexander possesses and plan to put those abilities on full display while they can.

Will The North will reunite in AEW? Sound off in the comments!
