Tyler Breeze was released from his WWE contract last week, but that wasn’t the only job he had at the time. He also co-owns Flatback Wrestling School along with AEW star Shawn Spears. They have seen a few notable names visit the school for training and there will likely be many more to come. One person, Xia Li, has stood out as a very good success story for his school.

While talking on his Twitch stream, Tyler Breeze opened up about Xia Li’s time at Flatbacks Wrestling School. She was already a part of NXT and wondering why she wasn’t on television. Then Li took part in an eight-week training course at the school and showed Triple H what she could do.

“Xia Li is a very good success story that we’ve had. She’s been part of NXT for three or four years and kinda went, ‘look, what am I doing? Why am I not on TV and being used?’ She came to me and asked (to be trained) and we were like, ‘Cool, this is what we need to do.’ She did the entire eight-week course, I wrestled a match with her and taped it, showed it to Triple H, and two or three weeks later, she’s getting booked to what she’s doing now and doing vignettes. Xia is fantastic. She’s definitely one of ours.“

Cezar Bononi, Renee Michelle, Colten Gunn and others have also trained with Tyler Breeze and Shawn Spears at their school. The future seems bright for Flatbacks Wrestling School as they continue getting a spotlight from their students going on to much bigger things. Hopefully, this will become a trend for Breeze and Spears.

We will have to see where Tyler Breeze ends up following his 90-day non-compete clause with WWE. He won’t be leaving the pro wrestling world at all due to his school, but it wouldn’t be a big surprise to see him lighting up another pro wrestling television show soon.
