Kevin Owens lost to Sami Zayn at Hell in a Cell, and that was a tough defeat to take. He later announced that time off is needed to recollect himself. That time off from WWE television likely won’t last long, because Sami Zayn will battle Owens next week in a Money in the Bank qualifier match.

During Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer discussed this situation. As we previously reported, Meltzer said that he was told that Owens was granted time off and it would be used in the storyline. Then they turned around and booked him in a last man standing match next week.

“Monday he said he was leaving. I was told, I was like, ‘what’s up with Kevin? Is he hurt? It’s like, ‘no he asked for personal time off.’ I was told that specifically, so I hope all of his injuries healed in that week.”

You never know what is really going on in WWE. The company might have granted Owens time off and then decided that they need him back next week instead. Either way, his vacation time likely won’t be a long hiatus because he will battle Sami Zayn in a last man standing match next week on Friday Night SmackDown.
