Sonya Deville escaped a very scary situation when a man who had been stalking her online for years showed up at her home. This resulted in a horrifying experience where he broke into her home with a backpack full of tools needed to conduct a kidnapping. He was deemed incompetent by a judge and now he is no longer in police custody.

Philip Thomas was committed to Florida’s Department of Children Families on May 14th according to PW Insider. Judge Barbara Twine ruled that he was incompetent to stand criminal charges of kidnapping.

He was then transferred out of the custody of Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office. Thomas is now in the custody of a mental health facility where is he getting the help he needs. He was physically transferred today, June 22nd.

Thomas was arrested and charged with Aggravated Stalking, Armed Burglary of a Dwelling, Attempted Armed Kidnapping, and Criminal Mischief in August 2020, just before SummerSlam. Deville and Mandy Rose were set to have a hair vs hair match at SummerSlam, but that stipulation was nixed and a loser leaves WWE stipulation was put on the match instead. Deville lost the match and was given time off to deal with this situation.

Deville also filed a restraining order against Thomas. He was having his mail sent to her home while he was incarcerated, but she put a stop to that. Now this situation seems to be over for her, but the trauma will certainly remain for a while.
