Roman Reigns and Rey Mysterio were set to do battle inside the dreaded Hell in a Cell structure at Hell in a Cell this Sunday. The company had other plans and that match will happen on SmackDown tonight instead. There is a reason for that, but it doesn’t have much of a reason behind it.

Vince McMahon will sometimes call for a change and that is the way it is. This alteration is another example of that. According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, “there’s no involved reason that made any sense” as to why this match was moved around.

It was reportedly decided on Thursday to switch the match to SmackDown. They wanted to run the match early as a means to give Roman Reigns a big push on television; since the match was set to put Reigns over anyway.

As far as what happened, there’s no involved reason that made any sense. The word we were told is that you can’t describe why, there were just a bunch of discussions on Thursday and the discussions ended up with “Let’s do it on Smackdown.”

It was noted that the match between Roman Reigns and Rey Mysterio seemed to be more about putting The Tribal Chief against a great worker to allow him the chance to “play bully heel.” Now fans will get to see what match go down tonight.

We’ll have to see how things turn out, but don’t expect a big title change on SmackDown unless WWE really wants to shock everyone. This decision seems to be just another one that they had to hopefully bring a higher viewership number to the blue brand.
