As seen on this week’s episode of Friday Night Smackdown, Montez Ford squared off against Chad Gable in singles competition. The match was originally supposed to be a tag team match between the Street Profits and the Alpha Academy but that did not end up happening.
While the match itself was a solid one as both competitors showed off their in-ring skills, the match didn’t end as expected as Otis came out of nowhere and attacked Montez Ford.
Otis, who had just attacked Ford’s partner Angelo Dawkins, then went on to brutally assault Ford and left him a broken man. It seems the assault was so bad that it left Ford injured. WWE officially announced that Ford suffered several injuries and will be transported to a local medical facility.
“Montez Ford suffered a partial rib fracture and torn intercostal cartilage, as a result of the attack by Otis. He’s being evaluated at a local medical center and WWE Digital will follow up with any up.”
Currently it is not known just how long Montez Ford is expected to be on the shelf for. With Otis displaying a new intensity along with a different look, it is likely Ford and Otis will be feuding once he returns to WWE television.
