WWE could be setting the stage for Brock Lesnar’s return. His name came up on WWE programming and a big focus was put on him not working there in the process. The fact could be that his hiatus is coming to an end.

During WWE RAW this week, Kofi Kingston and Drew McIntyre both talked about Brock Lesnar. McIntyre mentioned how he beat Lesnar, but Kofi famously did not. Then Bobby Lashley asked “why are they talking about somebody who doesn’t even work here?” That was a very interesting seed to plant.

During Wrestling Observer Live, Bryan Alvarez discussed this segment and WWE’s history of planting seeds. Everything is scripted and those lines were spoken on television for a reason.

“When I heard that I thought that they are building toward Lashley vs Lesnar. That is a match that they have not done. It is a match that people have been asking for a long time and maybe that’s their plan for SummerSlam. Maybe that is their plan for WrestleMania, etc.”

WWE is bringing back live crowds in July. That could be perfect weather for the Beast Incarnate’s return. Lashley vs Lesnar is certainly a match worth building toward. It was also noted that if WWE is building toward Lashley vs Lesnar then Drew McIntyre might not emerge virtuously at Hell in a Cell.

Anything is on the table in WWE, but one exception for Vince McMahon changing his mind about planting seeds applies to his main eventers. Talks with Brock Lesnar are also much different from other Superstars. WWE keeps them very close to the vest and only a select few know what’s going on. Lesnar’s name was certainly brought up during RAW for a reason, but the big question is why.

What’s your take on this? Is Brock Lesnar returning with live crowds?
