WWE typically holds their pay-per-view events on Sundays, but SummerSlam will be a much different story. The company has landed on Saturday, August 21st as their new date.

The company made the announcement official today one day after several reports broke the news. Saturday, August 21st is also the date of Manny Pacquiao’s return to boxing as he fights Errol Spence, Jr. in Las Vegas.

Interestingly enough, WWE did not confirm Las Vegas as SummerSlam’s host city. They only confirmed the date. It was previously reported that several NFL stadiums are in the running for the biggest party of the summer. The venue will be revealed on June 5th.

WWE today announced that SummerSlam 2021 will take place on Saturday, August 21 from a summer destination location. The venue will be revealed during the 2021 Belmont Stakes’ pre-race show on NBC next Saturday, June 5.

We will have to see where WWE is going to hold SummerSlam this year, but we know when it will be held. This is an interesting decision and there is also likely a reason for the change of date.
