WWE has not made any official announcement regarding SummerSlam so far. A new report seems to point toward Saturday, August 21st in Las Vegas as the date and location. We will have to see what WWE ends up doing, but some very big venues were considered.

The company was looking at bringing SummerSlam to an NFL stadium according to the Sports Business Journal. They considered stadiums from all over the United States. Those venues included:

Hard Rock Stadium in Miami, SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, Calif., NRG Stadium in Houston, Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, MetLife Stadium in N.J, and Nissan Stadium in Nashville.

SummerSlam is usually held in smaller arenas used by NBA teams. Last year they held SummerSlam without any live fans inside the ThunderDome. They are obviously looking to make this year’s event the biggest that they possibly can.

We will continue monitoring this ongoing story here at Ringside News. Until an official announcement is made, any of those big locations could be still on the table.

What do you think about WWE holding SummerSlam in such a large venue? Sound off in the comments!
