Andrade received his release from WWE without any 90-day non-compete clause associated with his departure. This is not typical for releases, but he received that luxury. So far Andrade hasn’t appeared for any televised wrestling company that Vince McMahon would care about. That could change on May 30th at Double or Nothing.

AEW Double or Nothing is Sunday, May 30th and they have loaded card prepared. The Casino Battle Royale match has one empty spot and fans are throwing out names like Bryan Danielson and Nick Gage to fill that opening. Andrade is a likely candidate as well.

Andrade’s name came up during Wrestling Observer Radio as Dave Meltzer discussed the surprise entry in the Casino Battle Royale match at Double Or Nothing. The company has been talking to Andrade and that is a possible spot to debut him

“The surprise, I mean I don’t want to say this, because it may be someone not as good as this, or it may be later, or it may fall through — but we know they’ve been talking — is Andrade. If it’s him and he wins, actually him and Kenny Omega is a great match on paper, but that’s a TripleMania main event and that’s in August.”

It was noted that Andrade debuting in the Casino Battle Royale match and then winning wouldn’t make much sense. AAA already has Andrade vs Omega set up for TripleMania, after all. You can never count out a big surprise where AEW is concerned.

Just because someone is a surprise debut for AEW doesn’t mean they will win the match. Andrade very well could get close to winning, but come up short. That might start a brand new story for El Idolo to tell in AEW.
