It’s Monday night and that means a brand new episode of WWE RAW for May 3rd, and Ringside News has you covered with live play-by-play results coverage.

Start time for WWE RAW is at 8:00 PM EST. Match-by-match highlights and results from the show will take place on this very page. Feel free to leave any reactions in the comment section below.

We’re a couple of weeks away from WrestleMania Backlash and tonight WWE have a jam-packed RAW for us. The RAW Tag Team Champions, AJ Styles & Omos, will finally return to the red brand and put their new belts on the line against the former Champions, The New Day. Not only that, but the Women’s Tag Team Titles will also be defended, as Nia Jax and Shayna Baszler face Naomi & Lana. Will we see any titles hange hands tonight, or are these matches just to end these lingering feuds? Let us know what you think below!

The All-Mighty WWE Champion, Bobby Lashley, will also be in action tonight but we don’t know who his opponent will be. WWE.com has said he’ll be facing either Drew McIntyre or Braun Strowman but for some reason they didn’t specify who – probably because WWE won’t know until the last minute. Beyond that, we can only assume we’ll see more of the newest RAW team, RKBro, more from Charlotte, Asuka and Rhea Ripley, as well as T-Bar and Mace continuing their impressive tag team run.

RAW

The May 3rd, 2021 episode of WWE RAW opens with a look back at the past few weeks and how we got to the upcoming Triple Threat for the WWE Championship at WrestleMania Backlash.

We see a clip from earlier today with Adam Pearce, Sonya Deville, and MVP backstage. Adam Pearce is going to flip a coin to decide who will face Bobby Lashley tonight but Drew McIntyre and Braun Strowman walk in and start bickering. Pearce tells them to save it for Backlash, then Braun wins the coin flip and so he faces Lashley tonight. MVP tells Braun he shouldn’t be so excited because the All Mighty will put Braun in the Hurt Lock tonight and he won’t make it to Backlash.

We go live to the ThunderDome and out comes the new RAW Tag Team Champions, AJ Styles and Omos. AJ reminds everyone that they beat New Day at WrestleMania, and gives props to Omos for his incredible debut. AJ asks the WWE Universe if they were missed, and says they’ve been gone celebrating in the caribbean. AJ then says he is officially a Grand Slam Champion and it only took him five years. He doesn’t want to make New Day any more jealous than they already are.

Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods then come to the stage and remind AJ that they’re eleven times Tag Team Champions and they didn’t take time off to celebrate. Kofi says there is a reason they’ve won the belts so many times; everytime they get knocked down they get back up and win the titles back. Like clockwork. Kofi says AJ can take shots if he wants but the fact of the matter is, when he won the WWE Championship at WrestleMania in a gruelling match with his family at ringside and his brothers in the ring with him, he came to RAW the next night and that’s the kind of Champion he is. Styles took a month off and that’s not how they roll. Omos says he’s had enough of them and, after tonight, neither of them will be able to walk, let alone joke around. New Day proclaim they’re about to become 12X Tag Team Champions.

We start with Omos and Woods. After a moment, Woods fires off a few leg kicks and Omos doesn’t budge, he grabs Woods and tosses him across the ring. Omos lifts Woods and knee’s him, then slams him into the corner and tells Kofi to tag in. Kofi obliges and he goes to the leg as well to no effect. Omos shoves Kofi down, then whips him to the ropes and Kingston kicks him, then Woods tags in and they double dropkick him but Omos bounces back with a double clothesline.

Styles tags in and Woods rolls him up for a two-count. Styles rolls outside and Woods hits him with a diving kick through the ropes and Kofi tags in. Kingston wants to hit the ropes but Omos is standing in his way, so Kofi jumps onto the top rope and dives backwards with a Trust Fall onto AJ. New Day regroup at ringside as Omos watches on from the apron.

*Commercial Break*

Back live and New Day are still in control of Styles. We get the Unicorn Stampede and Kofi pins AJ for two. Styles fights back but Kingston hits a leaping knee to cut him of. They brawl and Styles hits a dropkick, so Kofi tags Woods and AJ stumbles to his corner so Omos can tag himself in. Omos grabs Woods and Kofi runs into a big right clothesline.

Omos hits a backbreaker to both men and showcases his strength. Omos then splashes them both in the corners. Omos hits Kofi with a choke bomb and Xavier tries to rally but gets dropped with a big boot. Styles tags in and jumps off Omos’ shoulders with a Phenomenal Forearm to Woods for their first successful title defense.

wINNERS: AJ STyles & Omos

Sonya Deville and Adam Pearce are backstage and she condecends him. Pearce says they need to get it straight; he appreciates her input but she is really over-stepping lately. He and Deville have a tense staredown.

*Commercial Break*

Eva Marie is returning to WWE. We see a video of her sitting on a Ferrari and she says “do I have your attention now?”

Bobby Lashley and MVP are interviewed backstage. MVP says Braun Strowman’s luck ran out tonight. He could eat a bowl of four leaf clovers and he still wouldn’t have enough luck to beat Bobby Lashley tonight. Braun and Drew are forces of nature that would be far too much for a normal man. Lashley says he is no normal man and they’ll have to pry the title from his hands, and he doesn’t fancy anyone’s chances of doing that. MVP says the Strowman Express gets derailed tonight.

Elias and Jaxson Ryker are backstage with a basket of tomates and they try to sneak-up on Woods and Kingston but they accidentally pelt Randy Orton with them. Randy is seeting and Riddle rolls past on his scooter.

*Commercial Break*

Sonya and Charlotte are in the ring and Deville says she has agrred to allow Flair to make a proposal. Charlotte says she was taken aback when she heard Asuka and Rhea Ripley were going to get a match at Backlash. She’s being left out again and she has to remind everyone that she beat Asuka at WrestleMania, ending her undefeated streak. Also, she put Rhea Ripley on the map and beat her at WrestleMania to become the NXT Champion. Charlotte says Deville can’t tell her that if she wasn’t added to the match that Backlash would be a bigger deal. She makes it that much more important.

Charlotte says that Deville did a good thing in bringing her back but make no mistake, the WWE needs her. She implores Deville to make another good decision and add her to the match at Backlash. She says “be fair, to Flair.” Deville says Charlotte makes a compelling arguement. The men have a Triple Threat match for the WWE Championship, so she will indeed add her to the match at WrestleMania Backash.

The RAW Women’s Champion, Rhea Ripley, comes out and says she’s put up with a lot from Charlotte but this is crap. There’s a reason why Flair wasn’t at WrestleMania, and there’s a reason why she wasn’t in the match to start with, nobody likes her. Charlotte pretends to cry. Rhea says she knows she can beat Asuka again but a Triple Threat is unfair. She should have known this was all part of a bigger plan.

Asuka cmes down to the ring and says this is all bull crap. She says Charlotte whines like a baby and mocks her. Asuka says it doesn’t matter because she can beat Flair and Rhea. She’s ready to become the RAW Women’s Champion. Charlotte says this is why nobody compares to her, they get a curveball and they both lose their minds. She says she will be walking out of Backlash as the new Champion. Rhea gets in Sonya’s face and shouts at her, then Charlotte attacks her. Rhea rolls outside and Asuka knocks Charlotte from the ring so she can dance and pose.

Humberto Carrillo is interviewed backstage and he says Sheamus is a tough guy but he’s a bully. He knows what it is to be bullied but he won’t let Sheamus do it to him. He’s going to fight him. Sheamus attacks Carrillo from behind and beats him into some production boxes, then tells him “you’re in no condition to accept my open challenge this week.” There’s always next week.

*Commercial Break*

Deville is walking backstage and Adam Pearce stops and shouts at her. Deville tries to say she text him but Pearce doesn’t care. He says they’re supposed to make decisions together, so does he need to go to a higher-up? She apologises and says he’s right.

The Miz and John Morrison are in the ring. Miz says last Monday they were humiliated when they were pelted with rotten tomatoes by New Day and Damian Priest. Miz lists-off his accomplishments and says that was no way to treat an all-time great. He ignores Morrison and says Priest has to get what he deserves.

Priest clobbers Morrison with a lariat for a two-count. Priest goes to the top rope but Miz distracts him, allowing Morrison to hit a Spanish Fly for a near-fall. Morrison then goes to the corner and wants Starship Pain but Priest grabs him. Morrison rolls-up Damian as Miz gets on the apron and distracts the referee, inadvertently costing Morrison the match. Priest hits The Reckoning for the win.

Winner: Damian Priest

Adam Pearce is backstage with Mansoor, who signs his RAW contract. Sheamus walks in and says “the Champ is here.” Sheamus says Humberto won’t be answering his open challenge tonight and accidents happen. Sheamus makes fun of Mansoor, who says he’s officially a RAW Superstar, just like Sheamus. Pearce says he has tons of potential and Sheamus mocks them, saying he must be in the presence of greatness. Sheamus says this is a big night for Mansoor, so why not accept the open challenge tonight? It won’t be for the title but there’s no way for the WWE Universe to get to know him that seeing him taking a boot to the face.

MVP is interviewed backstage and says this match tonight shouldn’t be happening. He says Braun weaseled his way into this match. MVP says maybe Lashley and Drew should team-up to ensure they get the one-on-one match they deserve.

But they didn’t kick him out, they kicked Shelton out. He was the weak link from day one. Cedric asks Shelton how long he’s been in WWE and done nothing? He says he won’t waste another minute of his life carrying Shelton.

Angel Garza is walking backstage with a rose and Drew Gulak stops him. Gulak says it’s funny that he calls himself a ladies man but he can’t score. Gulak challenges him to a match and says if he wins he wants the rose. Garza says when he beats him he’ll shove the rose up his ass.

*Commercial Break*

Shelton is walking backstage and stopped for an interview. He says he’s survived for so long in this business because he can take a hit. He’s seen so many young Superstars come and go. Guys like Cedric. Nobody knows it but he was the one who wanted Cedric in The Hurt Business. He let him say his piece tonight but if he continues down this path, he’ll be another young star who fizzles out and he’ll survive.

What is meant to be, will be, and he’s a lot more concerned with winning the WWE Championship.
