Pat McAfee started his new position as color commentator for Friday Night SmackDown this week, and he was met with praise by fans. There are still those who wonder how much WWE will change the famous former NFL punter’s style.

According to Sports Illustrated, the company plans to let Pat McAfee be himself to a great extent. They realize the personality that he brings to the table and they don’t want to over-produce him into changing up his style.

Though the world of wrestling, especially WWE, is always subject to change, the current plan is to let McAfee be himself on the air and avoid over-producing him. He will also continue to work on his other projects, including his podcast, while serving as one of the premier voices of SmackDown.

Triple H praised Pat McAfee following his first day on the job. McAfee previously stated that working for WWE in this capacity is dream come true. It seems that the two sides started things off on the right foot. We’ll have to see what’s to come in this new partnership.
