Samoa Joe’s Medical Clearance Status At Time Of WWE Release

Samoa Joe was released from his WWE contract on April 15th along with nine other Superstars. More releases could come down today from the NXT brand.

Joe never returned to the ring since suffering concussion. He was on the RAW commentary until his departure from the company. He didn’t want to stay on the announce desk.

According toFightful, Samoa Joe expressed a desire to return to the ring. At the time of his release from the company he was still not cleared to compete.

Samoa Joe had expressed his desire to wrestle of late, but was not cleared by WWE.

WWE doesn’t take concussions lightly and they are super cautious about things. Samoa Joe might be able to get a doctor to clear him, but that will be something he will need to do on his own now.

It appears that Joe was given his release without getting the green light to go in the ring again. We have to wonder if he would still be with the company if WWE could have cleared him.
