Mike Bennett Explains Why He Really Re-Signed With WWE

Mike Bennett and Maria Kanellis were both released from WWE in April 2020. They have since returned to ROH, but they did re-sign with WWE prior to the company releasing them.

While speaking to Lucha Libre Online, Mike Bennett revealed the real reason why he signed a new deal with WWE. He did it for his family. He has young children and he wanted to be able to provide the most for them that he could. WWE offered him

“A lot of people ask me about WWE and why I decided to re-sign. Because of my daughter. At the end of the day, everything is because of her. All is because of my kids, because of my children. It has a huge effect on everything you do”.

It was reported that Mike Bennett’s WWE deal was worth $250,000 a year, matching his wife’s deal.

Mike Bennett is wrestling on the indies again, and he loves every moment of it. He has wrestled for only handful of people in recent memory, and he traveled through a blizzard to make the show. He seems very happy about his career right now, but that guaranteed WWE money was just too hard to pass up at the time.
