Konnan tested positive for COVID-19 and he was hospitalized for kidney issues as well. He is out of the hospital now, but things did not look good for a while.

During Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer provided some clarity on just how bad it got for Konnan. At a point, they brought in a member of the clergy to pray for him, and they also had a very difficult discussion about mortality.

“I did hear from him today and he’s home. He needs a nurse and medicine and things like that. It was really bad a week ago. I mean bad enough that had a chaplain come to his room and pray for him, bad enough that they came and talked to him about what decision should be made if his kidney stops working or his heart stopped working.”

Thankfully, Konnan seems to be doing better. He is at home and on the mend. Things were much worse for him just a week ago, and it seems that it was a very grim situation.
