AEW and WWE are two very different companies, and many fans have pointed to the men calling the shots to really get a feel for how things work. We’ve heard several stories about how Vince McMahon and Tony Khan differ at this point.

While appearing on Saturday Night’s Main Event, Cash Wheeler opened up about a major difference between Vince McMahon and Tony Khan. McMahon has seen so much success in pro wrestling that he doesn’t have to listen to anyone. On the other hand, Tony Khan is willing to hear someone out so he can get the best idea out of a situation, even if it is one he can build from.

Vince has a vision he has what he likes and he sticks to that. Who can argue with his success? He’s been around longer than any wrestling promoter ever and he’s made more money than any of them, so I can’t tell him he’s wrong. But for Tony’s approach to be so open-minded [and] for him to know that he’s going to get the most out of his performers if he listens to them and what they’re passionate about and he finds a way to make that work around his vision. He wants people to talk and to figure it out he doesn’t want it to be, ‘Alright, this is what it is. Go do it.’ He says, ‘What’s your strength, what do you enjoy, what are you best at, what do you feel?’ and you go from there. Like Dax said, it’s so liberating and it’s so fulfilling for us.”

AEW and WWE have several differences in their booking, and a lot of that might come directly from the top. We will have to see if anything changes as the years go by, but AEW fans seem to enjoy Tony Khan’s booking at a greater percentage than WWE fans agree with the way Mr. McMahon wants things to go.
