Sami Zayn Blames Referee for Loss to Rey Mysterio on WWE SmackDown

After Sami Zayn went on a rant about his placing in Friday night’s gauntlet match on SmackDown, he was quickly defeated by Rey Mysterio to ensure he would not challenge Roman Reigns for the Universal Championship at Royal Rumble.

It furthers the idea that Zayn is part of a bigger conspiracy, and while he may have lost the Intercontinental Championship, it does feel as if he’s destined to be part of the world title picture on a consistent basis moving forward.

Now, Zayn has offered up his own view as to why he was defeated by the master of the 619.

Last night the ref started the match & rang the bell without asking me if I was ready! That caused me to lose. In 19 years, never had a ref ring the bell without consulting me first. Don’t worry, we got it all on film for our documentary. The conspiracy against Sami Zayn is real.
