WWE NXT is airing New Year’s Evil tonight on USA. We will have complete coverage here at Ringside News, but one highly anticipated match isn’t happening. Tommaso Ciampa and Timothy Thatcher’s fight pit match is not taking place, and there’s a reason for that.

According to Dave Meltzer, one of the competitors in tonight’s scheduled fight pit match is injured. He did not note whether that injury is with Tommaso Ciampa or Timothy Thatcher, but it is keeping that match from taking place as scheduled.

This likely has to do with Ciampa vs. Thatcher. One of the two is injured and as of yesterday it wasn’t a sure thing if the match would happen or not.

WWE NXT will still have a loaded special to present. AEW Dynamite will also air night 1 of their New Year’s Smash event. Needless to say, tonight is going to be a very busy night for pro wrestling and we will keep you covered right here at Ringside News.
