Matt Hardy and Jeff Hardy made history as the Hardy Boyz, but now they are separated by company lines. Jeff Hardy is still in WWE and he is teaming with Matt Riddle. Their team name, The Hardy Bros, is an obvious play on the name that Matt and Jeff made famous.
In a recent YouTube video, Matt Hardy addressed WWE’s new Hardy Bros team. He said that Vince McMahon is obsessed with greatness. He knows that the Hardy Boyz is guaranteed money, so the Hardy Bros were invented.
It’s just not the real thing and he went on to compare the new team to Fake Razor and Fake Diesel.
“Vince McMahon is so obsessed with the greatness and the popularity and the success of the Hardy Boyz that he’s created The Hardy Bros. He’s put together another guy named Matt with my brother, Jeff, to try and recreate the magic that we once had. He’s trying to confuse the marketplace because he so wishes he still had the Hardy Boyz. The Hardy Bros with Jeff and Matt Riddle that’s not gonna work. You would’ve had a better chance with a Fake Razor and Fake Diesel.”
We’ll have to see what WWE is able to do with a Riddle and Jeff Hardy team. They could have a title reign in their future, but it will likely be nothing compared to the team Jeff had with a different Matt, his own brother who is now in AEW.
