AEW and Impact Wrestling now have a partnership, and it is only beginning. We’re unclear how many stars will crossover, but it’s seemingly bound to happen following Kenny Omega’s surprising AEW World Title win.

The Young Bucks spoke to the Living The Gimmick podcast’s Patreon account. They were asked about Impact Wrestling’s new deal with AEW. Matt Jackson replied saying that this is an idea that they wanted to start years ago.

“I’ll tell you this, two years ago this was something that Nick and I brought up that we wanted to get this going, and for whatever reason it just didn’t work out. I don’t know if that was more on our side, or what, but we just couldn’t agree to what the creative would be. When Nick and I were stopping and popping up at the indie shows and going to AAA in Mexico that was one of the suggestions we had, ‘what if we showed up in Impact?'”

“This is something we’ve been whispering in Tony Khan’s ears for two years. It’s a lot of collaboration and partnering with everybody and working together this is what we’ve always done.”

The Young Bucks wanted a partnership with Impact Wrestling for “a very long time.” This is likely why their official Twitter account was so quick to tease the Young Bucks returning to Impact Wrestling to prove that they are no longer Generation Me.
