WWE’s issues with long term booking have been well documented. It seems that booking on the fly is the weekly remedy for how to get through another week. That is what happened with Otis.

We exclusively reported when WWE made the plan for Tucker to turn on Otis. There wasn’t much of payoff planned, especially since they are on different brands. A Survivor Series confrontation is very likely, but plans came together quickly.

Ringside News has learned that Otis losing the Money In The Bank briefcase to The Miz was just another week to go, “hey, let’s change things up!” The company was looking for shock value, which is why Otis won the briefcase in the first place.

A tenured member of the team told us that “it’s really as stupid and insane and impatient and impetuous as that.” Vince McMahon wanted a big moment, so he booked one to happen immediately.

There were few different plans for Otis since winning the Money In The Bank briefcase, but nothing came from those ideas. Now Otis is without the MITB briefcase, and The Miz is Mr. Money In The Bank. At least The Miz was able to tease repeating history by cashing in on Randy Orton, but nothing is locked down at this point.

I love pro wrestling and hate BS. These two things drive me. Years of experience in writing, journalism, and digging exclusive insider info for Ringside News. Worked in finance before realizing pro wrestling journalism made much less sense. Pro beachballs at pro wrestling shows, pro dives if someone catches, anti bullies, olives, and pineapples on pizza.
