Shorty G is no more after SmackDown this week. It was a long time coming if you ask some fans. We’ll have to see if this new name change comes with a push, but they already had plans to make this switch.

According to Fightful Select, WWE filmed Shorty G’s name change in a segment last week. They had to cut it due to time constraints. Then they moved it to this week.
It was said the original segment featured Drew Gulak last week, but it was cut for time.
Shorty G received his name as King Corbin mocked him. WWE presented the new moniker as a way to build toward nothing really transpiring for him. Going back to Chad Gable seems to hint that a serious character transition is on the way. We are remaining cautiously optimistic.
