Big E defeated Sheamus on SmackDown this week in a brutal falls count anywhere match. Then Xavier Woods and Kofi Kingston made their return to SmackDown. They immediately set their sights on the SmackDown Tag Team Titles.

Later on in the night, Woods and Kingston defeated Cesaro and Shinsuke Nakamura to win the titles. Then while they were still in the ring, Stephanie McMahon came out and announced the next picks in the 2020 WWE Draft.

Raw picked Woods and Kingston. Then Xavier said to call Big E’s name next, but Steph did not. Instead, she revealed SmackDown’s next pick: Big E. That separated The New Day by brand lines.

Ringside News exclusively reported weeks ago that WWE still had plans on the table to split up the New Day. It looks like they decided to go that direction.
