AEW hasn’t stopped signing new stars. Will Hobbs impressed during his Dynamite debut and he was also included in the Casino Battle Royale at All Out. Those appearances led him to a contract with All Elite Wrestling.

The company confirmed on Wednesday afternoon that Will Hobbs has officially signed an AEW contract. The specifics of his contract were not disclosed, but this is a very exciting time.

Hobbs made headlines following his AEW Dynamite debut few weeks ago. He lost a match to Darby Allin during that debut, but it was evident that AEW was positioning Hobbs to be way more than an enhancement talent as Dave Meltzer said on Wrestling Observer Radio at the time.

“It was three minutes, and it looked like a squash match on paper, but they gave Will Hobbs more than you would in a normal squash. Somebody wanted him to look good before losing. I mean, it was still a short match, and the announcers are putting him over, putting over his power. I mean on paper this is a squash match — three minutes sounds like a squash match, but the announcers and the way the match was put together was anything but a squash match.”

We’ll have to see what AEW has in place for Will Hobbs. He is a buy guy who can do a lot in the ring. Stay tuned.
