Aleister Black and Kevin Owens are now in a rivalry. This is a departure from the previous direction of Black hunting Seth Rollins and Buddy Murphy who actually caused his injury. During Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer explained WWE’s logic for this booking decision.

“Kevin needs an opponent because originally he was supposed to face Seth, but Rey re-signed so now [Owens] has an opponent so it just is what it is.”

Kevin Owens and Aleister Black will likely feud. Their match wasn’t booked for Payback, but the company still has plenty of time to make that match official with a social media blast.

Ringside News exclusively reported that WWE was gearing up for another feud for Kevin Owens and Seth Rollins. That was one of their options for SummerSlam. They kept it as an alternative in case Mysterio didn’t ink a new deal.

Rey Mysterio did re-sign with WWE. He will reportedly be around for another three years. WWE did have plans just in case Mysterio didn’t agree to a new deal. Now it appears they are carrying on with Rey Mysterio as a part of their plans.
